Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is a serious infection that is spread through blood or bodily fluids. Immunisation is recommended for all children, and for adults at risk of disease. Safe sex and use of sterile instruments and equipment are important in prevention.

Notification

Hepatitis B is a notifiable disease in NSW and must be reported by phone as soon as possible after diagnosis.
 
Doctors, Hospitals and laboratories must notify the local Public Health Unit (PHU).
 
Select your local PHU  to obtain the correct notification form and notify your local PHU.
