Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a rare sexually transmitted infection that is spread through unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sexual contact, especially if there is trauma to the skin or mucous membranes. Safe sex helps prevent infection.
Notification
Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a notifiable disease in NSW and must be reported by phone as soon as possible after diagnosis.
Doctors, Hospitals and laboratories must notify the local Public Health Unit (PHU).
