Transfer Incentives – Rural and Metropolitan

There are a range of benefits that may be available to you through the Crown Employees (Transferred Employees Compensation) Award – this award is applicable where you are required to relocate. Benefits can include:

  • Extra leave entitlements – to seek accommodation and when taking up the new position
  • Personal transport allowances
  • Payment of removal and storage of goods costs
  • Refund of costs associated with purchase and sale of primary residence (e.g. conveyancing and stamp duty) up to respective costs of $417,000
  • Children’s school uniforms where they are required to re-locate to a new school

Leave

Generous provisions are available, including:

  • Annual leave - 4 weeks with an increased allowance for eligible shift workers of up to 6 weeks leave (at 8 weeks pay)
  • Maternity/Adoption leave - 14 weeks paid leave
  • Parental leave – 1 week paid leave
  • Sick leave – 114 hours per annum (approx 15 days) accruable
  • Long service leave – 2 months after 10 years (accessible pro-rata after 7 years)

Education and Training

As a Registered Training Organisation, Ambulance Education provides induction and in-service clinical training and clinical assistance programs throughout rural and metropolitan areas. With 15 additional training and education staff deployed to rural areas access to education and assessment processes for clinical certification continues to improve.
